For many Edinburgh residents, it will always be Waverley Market. And while the manager of the Princes Mall smiles as I mention its former name, he also shakes his head as if acknowledging that, even after five years, the new branding has failed to penetrate the collective city psyche. Rob Winter is hoping to have more impact in his other job: chairman of the Princes Street Traders Association. He is a man on a mission - to make sure the famous thoroughfare keeps up with the times, stays ahead of the competition, and to finally put Edinburgh on the map as a major shopping centre.
