Holyrood: firms poised to sue

The Sunday Herald

Revelations from the Fraser Inquiry into the Holyrood building project are raising the threat of legal action against the Scottish Executive by those designers and builders who failed to win contracts. One of the most likely litigants is thought to be Sir Robert McAlpine, the construction firm which had close associations with the Conservative Party. It has become clear the company wants to use the inquiry to challenge the process through which it lost out, whereas another 13 bidders from 1998 remain anonymous.
