Big names who failed to make the selection panel

The Scotsman

The wife of one of devolution's biggest critics was considered for the panel that was to choose the winning Holyrood design, it emerged yesterday. Kathleen Dalyell, whose husband, Tam, is the Labour MP for Linlithgow and a long-standing opponent of the Scottish Parliament, was on a list drawn up by civil servants. According to Sebastian Tombs, of the Royal Incorporation of Architects in Scotland, Mrs Dalyell was considered for a place on the panel because she was a member of the Royal Fine Arts Commission.
