City architects' buildings set for heritage listing

Edinburgh Evening News

Two city architects are to have their work recognised in a drive to give listed status to buildings erected during the dark days of 1950s and 1960s Scottish architecture. Heritage chiefs have turned their attention to the post-war period and are considering honouring a number of buildings by acclaimed architects Morris and Steedman in and around Edinburgh. The buildings earmarked for possible listed status include Edinburgh University's student centre at Potterrow, with its distinctive dome, the Almondell footbridge in West Lothian and the principal's residence at Stirling University.
