Holyrood process blasted by expert

The Scotsman

An architectural expert today launched a scathing attack on the way the competition for the Scottish Parliament building was run. Peter Wilson, director of the Manifesto foundation for architecture, based at Edinburgh's Napier University, said the exercise - which resulted in the selection of Catalan architect Enric Miralles - did not follow the normal rules for major competitions. And he described some aspects of the process adopted by the Scottish Office as "bizarre".
