£126m pours in to speed up regeneration
The River Clyde is to receive £126m to help the regeneration of its waterfront. The funds have been approved by Scottish Enterprise, and the deal is the agency's largest capital finance package. The money, to be released over the next seven years, is expected to attract several times as much in funding from Europe and the private sector. It will be made available from April 2004 at about £18m a year and be used primarily for infrastructure work such as river engineering, and improving the public transport network.
