Whether the £1 billion rebirth of Glasgow's twilight zone will be accessed on the iridescent wings of a dragonfly, by a crystal arch or a taut minimal arc, is still a mystery. But if verbosity could span the Clyde, Glasgow's newest bridge would already be a reality. Instead, the project to build a £40 million footbridge, linking north to south from Broomielaw, the new financial district, to Tradeston, soon to be the place to live, merely took a step in the right direction.
