Narrow the Clyde, says top architect
The next and most important phase of regenerating the Clyde should involve building on land reclaimed from the river itself, one of Scotland's top young architects said yesterday. Gareth Hoskins, founder of Gareth Hoskins Architects in Glasgow, urged the use of so-called "bluefield sites" for leisure, commerce and housing to bring a much-needed sense of unity to the waterfront. He said there were no technical obstacles to narrowing the river, as the Clyde is artificially wide.
