Island's Ferry Shelter Scoops Design Award

The Scotsman

A controversial ferry passenger shelter on a Hebridean island has won a prestigious award, it was announced today. An Turas, a glass and concrete structure at the ferry terminal on the island of Tiree, has won the RIAS Award for Architecture, Best Building in Scotland 2003. The £100,000 project was completed in March of this year and has won both praised and criticism for the design which encompasses a glass booth at the end of a concrete walkway.
