Monumental exhibition is proof of city's prestige
Edinburgh may be renowned for its architecture, but too often the city's monuments and statues are overlooked. Miranda Fettes visits a new exhibition aiming to put that right. Monumental Edinburgh, which was due to open today, celebrates the city's collection of commemorative memorials to a long line of historical figures who have left their mark on the social, political, artistic and economic landscape of the city, together with some contemporary additions, such as the Elm Row pigeons.
