Lighthouse a beacon for design

Stuart MacDonald, the driving force behind the Lighthouse, Scotland's national centre for architecture design and the city, has been named as one of the 50 most influential designers in Europe. Mr MacDonald, director of the centre, is the only Scot to make this year's "Hot 50" list, which is compiled by Design Week, the industry bible, and is regarded as the supreme accolade in his field.
