'Bias' row as historic sites fight for cash
A Labour MSP has accused Scottish Natural Heritage of bias for failing to promote a derelict Midlothian mansion's bid to win millions of pounds of prize money in BBC 2's Restoration programme. The publicly-funded heritage watchdog has been criticised for overlooking Mavisbank House, while urging people to vote for Kinloch Castle on the Hebridean island of Rum, which it owns. Midlothian MSP Rhona Brankin said she was furious at what she regarded as a slight against Mavisbank House in Loanhead.
